Primary Function
As the Broadcast IT Engineer you will lead in IT system design, administration, and support duties for the IT infrastructure across the customers' event studios, premium event centers, and digital event environments. You’ll manage the lifecycle and interface to the client’s IT group for all broadcast, audiovisual, conferencing, and production infrastructure, balancing the integration of cutting-edge technology with the maintenance of legacy systems to deliver seamless, high-quality event experiences.
In this role, you will work directly with the client’s IT teams (Infrastructure, Network Operations, Engineering, Customer Support, Provisioning, etc.) to monitor network performance, coordinate all equipment network and communication needs. You will be the primary source of all IT knowledge expertise and management of the media network driving innovation and operational excellence. Collaborate with event production teams and internal engineers, you’ll ensure our production-level spaces meet the evolving demands of in-person, hybrid, and digital events, setting new benchmarks for technical precision and reliability. This role reports to the Chief Engineer.

RANGE: $175k - $190k/annual
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise and the application of best practices in the field of IT
Work closely with the engineering department and client’s IT departments to ensure that all Broadcast/AV IT systems function at the highest levels of up-time on both private and public network
Minimize loss of network service by rapidly identifying and implementing alternative methods of service provision
Analyze and rectify network faults relating to network and systems
Work with the in-house IT department on common network interfaces across the enterprise, identifying policies and procedures that can both hinder and enhance operations
Determine and define appropriate governance to ensure compliance with all IT policies and procedures while maximizing uptime of all broadcast systems
Assist with in-house IT security to ensure compliance or risk mitigation based on published security protocols
Install, test, repair, and troubleshoot equipment as needed
Monitor service level indicators of networked equipment using both traditional and online tools and provide guidance to Chief Engineer
Evaluate IT equipment condition, create and execute lifecycle replacement plan
Recommend and perform upgrades in cooperation with in-house IT engineering
Document all network designs, IP schemes, and manage all software and firmware in concert with maintenance department
Train other engineers in department on best practices in troubleshooting, designing and supporting IT systems
Interact with ETM and Chief Engineer ensuring common technological solutions and workflows are maintained
Ability to work off hours during maintenance windows during evenings and weekends

Skills & Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of legacy and state-of-the industry multimedia systems and equipment used in best-in-class conference centers
Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and solving complex technical problems and an interest in developing new strategies
An overall understanding of the live program production process is necessary and a strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution is critical
Strong results orientation with a flexible attitude to deliver seamless and timely services to customers
Strong strategic writing and engineering documentation skills
Ability to read schematics and signal flow diagrams
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under tight timelines and high-pressure situations.
In-depth “hands on” knowledge of audio and video production tools such as cameras, mixers, monitors, editing systems, etc. and able to correctly setup and diagnose problems with such equipment
Experience supporting critical network infrastructures for 24/7 operations and scheduling appropriate service windows outside of normal customer access timeframes.
Ability to liaise with manufacturers and integrators to install, test and recalibrate new and newly repaired gear
Must be proficient in Google Workspace

Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Familiar with all types of AV equipment and control systems, including Crestron, Dante, Q-Sys, etc.
Proficient understanding of LAN/WAN hardware and software for switches, hubs, routers, bridges, point-to-point data circuits via copper and fiber for audio and video and control
Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Group Policy, Active Directory & enterprise management strategies. Familiarity with RTMP, RTSP, H.264 and related protocols
Experience configuring multicast and unicast protocols on distributed networks
Understanding of AoIP, VoIP, SDVN, and media transport over 1G, 10G, 40G, and 100G+ networks
Understanding of SMPTE ST2110 suite of standards and protocols to include NMOS and other associated technologies
Proficient on Cisco switches various firewalls to include configurations, port structuring, ACL management
Familiarity with MDM device deployment and management (VMWare, Workspace One, etc.).
Ability to maintain and manage backups and determine appropriate methods for restorations of network equipment
Familiarity with network stack level troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, Splunk, SNMP managers
Experience deploying cloud-based solutions and creative hybrid environments
Proficient in network cable termination techniques and standards
Network switch manufacturers: Mellanox, Cisco, Netgear, HPE Aruba, Planet
Knowledge of Network Storage: NetApp FAS, OpenDrives
Knowledge of Audio protocols: DANTE
Knowledge of Lighting protocols: sACN, KiNET
Knowledge of Scripting: BASH, Javascript
Knowledge of Control systems: Bitfocus Companion, Rosstalk, GVG Native
Knowledge of Operating systems: Mac (expert), Windows (expert), Linux (beginner/intermediate)
Education & Experience
10+ years’ broadcast, AV or telecommunications experience; large market/facility
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, IT, or related field preferred
Highly desirable certifications include Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
