As a Senior Engineering Manager for the Perception engineering team, you will lead a team in building tools for generative AI and computer vision, while ensuring smooth operations and technical guidance. Responsibilities: • Drive engineering excellence by providing technical leadership and guidance, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, scalable, and reliable systems. • Foster a high-performing team by recruiting top talent, mentoring engineers, and supporting career growth through skill development and progression plans. • Ensure efficient execution by leading sprint planning, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining alignment with business objectives while meeting deadlines and quality standards. • Shape system architecture by collaborating with engineers to design robust, scalable infrastructure that meets evolving business and technical needs. • Enable cross-functional success by working closely with other engineering teams to align priorities and translate stakeholder needs into impactful deliverables. • Improve developer productivity by ensuring infrastructure, tools, and processes support efficient development while maintaining security, reliability, and scalability. Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Advanced degree preferred). • Proven technical leadership with 4+ years of experience in full-stack development and 2+ years managing highly technical engineering teams. • Strong software design and architecture skills, with experience in API development, schema design, etc. • Expertise in programming languages such as TypeScript and Python, with a disciplined approach to software development focused on testing and quality. • Hands-on experience with front-end frameworks like React. Early career experience is fine. • Strong understanding of the AI/ML ecosystem, including LLM evaluation, prompt/context engineering. Keen interest in keeping up with latest trends in the domain. • Experience with developing AI/ML tooling such as UI for ML pipelines, feature stores, etc.. Experience with leveraging large language models (e.g., GPT-4, Gemini) for product development, and working with AI service APIs (e.g., text-to-speech, speech-to-text, translation, transcription). • Project management expertise, including experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira, demonstrating ownership of end-to-end project delivery. • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork across engineering, product, and design teams. • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a willingness to dive deep to drive results.
