ABOUT THE ROLE

Mansueto Ventures is looking for a Head of Communications to develop and execute a media and PR strategy for Inc. Business Media and Fast Company’s portfolio of editorial and publishing initiatives, including events, renowned franchises such as the Inc. 5000 and Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies, and bespoke programs for advertising partners.

Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus eligible. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Build and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for Inc. Business Media, Fast Company, and Mansueto Ventures.
• Develop and create written materials, including press releases, pitch letters, and other communications.
• Work with integrated marketing to ensure media kits are kept up to date.
• Promote Inc. Business Media and Fast Company’s original journalism and recognition programs, and pitch journalists as subject matter experts.
• Leverage relationships across business media to expand the visibility of Fast Company and Inc. Business Media’s editorial and publishing leaders.
• Build and execute media relations strategies for Fast Company and Inc. Business Media’s growing portfolio of editorial and custom events.
• Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
• Develop and manage strategy for awards submissions and industry conferences.
• Provide leadership with weekly report of PR results, keep leadership apprised of industry coverage.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 7+ years of experience in public relations and communications, preferably with some experience at a media company.
• Sharp and effective communicator, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, research and writing skills.
• Able to excel in a fast-paced environment with limited resources; understand the need to be nimble.
• Team-oriented and highly collaborative.
• Strong business acumen.
