Job Title: Associate Director - Brand Media
Location: Mettawa, IL or Florham Park, NJ (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months (With Possible Extension)
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract
Position Overview:The Associate Director - Brand Media position plays a key role in delivering exceptional media campaigns and is responsible for delivering best in class paid media products. He/she partners with brand Consumer marketing teams, as well as other functions, to determine customer insights, appropriate channels, media buying targets, media spend levels and appropriate metrics/KPIs for measurement.The Associate Director - Media specifically determines the media strategies, determines the right vehicles, establishes media spending levels by channel, flighting strategies, communication levels and measurement by tactic. This position oversees all consumer media, from strategic planning, tactical planning, to execution and post buy due diligence.The Associate Director - Media is responsible for delivering innovative solutions to address key stakeholder needs, providing recommendations, implementing and guiding team on improvement opportunities to continuously enhance output ensuring to account for the overarching franchise portfolio while also delivering on individual brand's needs.He/she has a proven track record in talent management, being able to guide members of the team towards achieving objectives and successfully setting direction for self and others (including external agencies).Essential Responsibilities:
Together with the respective Media Director, set the vision for brands' media strategy and guide the organization to navigate the complex and changing media environmentDevelop a portfolio strategy, manage media plans across various franchises, identify areas of opportunity for each brand, and cohesively and clearly set media strategy for multiple brands in the same categoryBring deep expertise in all paid media channels (offline and online) and apply media learnings and best practices across the enterpriseEstablish and achieve measurable media performance metricsResponsible for managing franchise media budgets and partnering with Marketing, Finance and MABI to develop media plans including quickly developing scenarios based on budget fluctuations to help inform launch plans and business discussions with senior leadersLead and influence decision making across functions (Marketing, Analytics, Digital Lab) by developing data driven media strategiesCollaborate with In-Housing Optimization team and other Lab colleagues to drive Lab revenue and savings goalsSuccessfully build relationships with internal stakeholders within Marketing, Finance, Digital Lab and CA&OAnalyze franchise competitive marketplace data on a consistent basis to provide recommendations for brand implications/action neededLead media agency to ensure successful launch and executions of all campaigns, drive innovation, and move the company businesses forwardLead Media Manager(s) including training, coaching and mentoring themChallenge the status quo to advance company's media presence and prepare for the futureSimplify complex concepts to influence and create organizational change that foster tangible business impactConsistently improve processes, media product, drive effectiveness and efficiency to ensure best in class internal media operations as well as with our external media agenciesRepresent company to external media partners to foster relationships that lead to first looks, added value and direct connection to resolve any issues quicklyExhibit good business judgement and make sound business decisionsDesired Qualifications:
College degree with 10+ years of paid media experience in both planning and negotiating media. Experience with paid media in the pharma industry and/or client-side experience is a plusExpertise in translating business and marketing goals into media goals, strategies, tactics and provide recommendations to internal stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple media plans, vendors, projects, and internal stakeholders simultaneously, with high attention to detail and deadlines and compliance to departmental and Company processesExtremely organized and proactive with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environmentGeneral competencies:
Demonstrated track record of leading a team of direct reportsDemonstrated track record of acting with agility and speed in challenging business environmentsStrong communication (both written and verbal) and business acumenExpertise with Microsoft software tools, including Word, Excel, Power Point, OutlookKnowledge of third-party data sources like Nielsen, MARS, Kantar, and third-party tools like Media Tools. Ability to learn new software programs specific to the media industry.
