Candidates will play an integral role on self directed project teams working on this high priority development project. Job Title: .Net Web Developer III Location: 201 East Washington Ave. Madison, Wisconsin 53703 Duration: 1 Year This is a technical position needed to drive the development and support of the Vocational Information System for Tracking Advancement (VISTA) modernization project, a full replacement of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation's case management system. Candidates will play an integral role on self directed project teams working on this high priority development project. Project work will include application design and development, integration with 3rd party internal and external systems, database technology migration from Oracle to Azure SQL and data conversion, building and maintaining cloud computing environments, and analysis of legacy code and logical requirements. Advising on and executing documentation, unit testing, and cross testing best practices. Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integrations, web development, and highly complex online transaction processing (OLTP). All service providers submitted with inconsistencies or falsifications in their credentials will be disqualified and DOA Purchasing will be notified. Hardware/Software Environment Azure SQL .NET Framework 6 .NET Framework 8 Blazor Framework MudBlazor Material Design Library Visual Studio .NET Azure Cloud Computing Platform GitHub Jira Swagger Microservices Architecture Top Required Skills & Years Of Experience Experience as a lead developer in a large application development project, preferably involving modernization of technology, as well as working with a cross-functional team to redesign and simplify UX and workflows to meet modern application design standards, using a material design library and component framework, such as MudBlazor - at least 2 years of experience The candidate must be a .NET expert with extensive experience using ASP.NET Core v6-8 - at least 2 years of experience Experience in Azure SQL cloud database solution - at least 1 year of experience Experience with GitHub distributed version control and using GitHub actions to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines - at least 1 year of experience Nice To Have Skills Experience working in an Agile software development environment Experience using Linq or Entity Framework Previous experience providing this service for government is a plus, and experience with DWD's environment will be especially valuable Interview Process Teams with cameras on. Onsite or Remote? Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation allowed. Preference given to candidates in Madison and surrounding communities. This position will work mostly remote within the state of WI but may be expected to come onsite as needed. Additional Information The selected contractor will be required to be available online, be present to meet all workload requirements, and must be available to attend all scheduled meetings during DWD standard working hours of 7:45 am - 4:30 pm, Central Time. Contractors must be available to work onsite in DWD Madison WI headquarters GEF-1 location at DWD's request, including consecutive weekdays or extended periods, without reimbursement for travel, lodging, or parking expenses. DWD can make changes or modifications to this arrangement with reasonable advance notice.
