We are seeking a skilled and passionate Creative (Writer/Director) to join our team and bring ideas to life across multiple social platforms. You are a natural storyteller with a keen eye for compelling visual narratives and an instinct for collaboration. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are just as comfortable behind the camera as you are in the editing bay.
You’ll work closely with our Associate Creative Director to conceptualize and execute content that breaks through the noise—staying ahead of social trends, solving problems in post, and delivering across a variety of formats and specs.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation: Develop and direct visual content across multiple social platforms using a variety of cameras and film equipment.
Storytelling: Translate briefs into compelling narratives that elevate brand voice and connect with audiences.
Editing: Apply post-production skills to problem-solve, address feedback, and fine-tune content for distribution.
Collaboration: Work closely with creative leads, strategists, and production teams to ensure creative excellence.
Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date on the latest social media formats, delivery specs, and creative trends.
Cross-Functional Support: Step in during critical moments to support your team with fast turnarounds and creative solutions.

Qualifications
3+ years experience as a writer, director, or similar creative role
Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling across social/digital formats
Proficient with a variety of cameras, lighting, and film equipment
Skilled in editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points
Experience with branded content and/or working with agencies
Background in social-first video production
Animation or motion graphics experience

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
