Overview
Oversee production of CUNY TV’s 25 shows and on-air programming.
Oversee the selection of shows that are not produced by CUNY TV for airing on the station.
Enhance current partnerships and seek new collaborations to broaden both the on-air and online programming of CUNY TV.
Work with IT, broadcasting, engineering, post-production and archive staff to maintain optimal maintenance of all equipment necessary for keeping the station on the cutting edge of technology and on the air.
Manage the station’s relationship with stakeholders such as the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and the CUNY Graduate Center.
Ensure the journalistic integrity of all CUNY TV programming.
Collaborate with the OCM budget office to oversee budget management and track the station's expenses.
Actively seek fundraising opportunities for CUNY TV.
Work closely with the CUNY TV Foundation board and on the management of the Himan Brown endowment.
Partner with OCM to produce the annual State of the University address and other CUNY specials throughout the year; act as liaison to CUNY colleges with on-campus TV and radio studios, which contribute about 100 hours of programming a month to CUNY TV.
Engage with outside organizations, as appropriate, to promote CUNY TV, like the NY Academy of Television Arts & Sciences or the National Association of Broadcasters.
Actively promote CUNY TV inside and outside of the CUNY Community.
Perform related duties as assigned.
NOTE
: Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Preferred: Minimum of 10 years of experience, including in a managing role in public media (strongly preferred), a statewide television or cable network, a local, state or community agency, government relations or public relations setting.
Ability to form and sustain partnerships across a complex network of colleges, national entities, affinity groups/coalitions, etc.
Business acumen including personnel management, vendor management, fiscal management, including the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget, as well as problem solving, project management and creative resourcefulness.
Seasoned leader with strong organizational skills and experience managing a diverse team and overseeing multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a broad community of internal and external stakeholders and constituents.
CUNY TITLE University Administrator COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The salary range is
$166,000 - $185,000
, commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.
