This internship is tailored for college students (undergraduate or graduate students) who aspire to gain practical experience in the field of User Experience (UX) design. The EX Design Team creates empowering, easy-to-use, and accessible experiences for end users using a holistic approach to experience design, covering everything from product vision design direction to user-centered design solutions.Our MissionPPL Design creates meaningful and impactful interactions to ensure digital experiences provide value for our customers, employees, and stakeholders.How we deliver value:Utilizing insights from business, product, tech, and supporting Design teams to prioritize user needs in designed solutionsEnhancing efficiency, safety, and overall satisfaction for employees and customers by providing experiences that align with both user needs and stakeholder goalsReducing implementation time by providing well-documented deliverables and performing QAResponsibilities:As a UX design intern, you will assist UX designers in any of the following activities:Creating user-centered design solutions with UX flows, wireframes, concepts, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockupsEvaluating and reporting on usability improvement opportunities through heuristic evaluationGuiding design direction through Product Vision PresentationsFostering collaboration and ideation through workshops and design sprint facilitationEnsuring brand alignment and accessibility with digital style guidesStreamlining workflows with process documentsEnsuring seamless implementation with concise developer documentationUpholding experience quality through Pre-production Design Quality Assurance (QA)Qualifications:Basic QualificationsCurrently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree related to UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.Will graduate from their academic program within 12 months of internship completion.Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.Basic familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite).Passion for understanding user needs and solving complex problems.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work in a team environment and receive feedback constructively.Preferred QualificationsExperience with design tools.Understanding of user experience research.Exposure to design systems.
