Managing and tracking the lead generation efforts, customer account management metrics, and team staffing and development. The Sales & Marketing Manager will report directly to the President and is responsible for four direct reports as well as vendor management for outsourced marketing services.This is a full-time (non-remote) position with offices located In Crystal Lake, Elk Grove, McHenry and Waukegan.Requirements:
What you will own & improve:Lead generation, tracking and assignment to the most capable AE on the team.
Quarterly reporting of trends and close ratios to the Management Team, meeting or exceeding goal and demonstrating continuous improvement.
Actively represent the Company in the transportation community. Engaging in local and regional activities, organizations, and industry specific functions; i.e. Chicago Traffic Club, IATA, ITA, and others.Champion and coach all aspects of the Sales Process to the Sales Team, promote continuous learning and career development.Sales Mentor Extraordinaire:
Source and maintain the highest level of transportation sales knowledge available and continually train and develop the Sales Team to solve our customers transportation challenges.Own the Sales Process; quarterly reviews to ensure effectiveness and initiate changes when needed.Manage compensation and bonus programs for the Sales Team. Allocation of budget based on performance and incentive plans.
Oversee, Negotiate and Approve broker-shipper agreements, Warehouse contracts and customer RFQ's, acting in the best interest of the company, soliciting legal guidance when needed.Marketing initiatives that support the agreed upon annual goals and quarterly initiatives.
What you already know:Proven and effective sales techniques that are repeatable and generate customer loyalty.Ability to coordinate marketing projects, communicate change and maintain aggressive timelines.Effective customers relations, problem solving and solution selling skills.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or closely related field.
Five (5) years of sales and/or sales management experience preferred.Any combination of education and experience that provides the equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
