Drive strategic marketing plans that showcase the business value and technological advantages of MapR to customers needing to solve big data challenges
Develop compelling messaging, collateral, presentations, and sales tools for an enterprise-focused sales organization and customer. Work closely with sales operations team to coordinate and deliver sales enablement and training.
Build competitive analysis tools to define MapR positioning in the Hadoop and NoSQL industries.
Communicate clearly to business and technical audiences on how the innovations in the MapR Distribution including Hadoop deliver customer success
Collaborate with the Sr. Solution Marketing Manager on developing business use cases across industry verticals based on customer success and ROI.
Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and sales, as well as with customers and other external individuals who feed the MapR and Hadoop community
Some travel required (up to 20%)
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND
5+ years of product marketing experience with a background in software development, technical presales, or application development experience; Enterprise software experience preferred
Experience with Hadoop and Hadoop-related technologies, including NoSQL; deep SQL/RDBMS, data warehouse, or analytics experience highly desirable
Experience with sales enablement best practices around competitive battle cards, sales plays, customer-facing PowerPoint decks, sales training presentations, etc.
Experience collaborating with virtual cross-functional teams
Strong and friendly communication skills, both written and verbal
Social media know-how with an active social profile
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization
Proven ability to multi-task, work under tight deadlines and get the most from limited resources
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or field/work experience relevant to this position; a graduate degree is a strong plus
Relevant work experience in pre-sales engineering, sales, product marketing/management, or competitive intelligence highly desired.
