Lead Graphics Engineer | AAA Game Studio | Onsite in Irvine, CA

Are you an experienced graphics engineer who thrives on pushing technical boundaries and leading teams to deliver visually stunning, immersive gaming experiences? This is a rare opportunity to join a newly established US-based AAA studio that’s developing an ambitious open world title backed by one of the world’s largest game publishers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Graphics Leadership and Development

• Lead development of rendering systems and own the graphics pipeline across the studio’s flagship open world game
• Design and implement new rendering techniques to create high performance visually rich experiences
• Collaborate closely with environment character and VFX teams to enable stunning visuals and push fidelity limits
• Utilize modern graphics APIs such as DX12 and Vulkan and shader languages like HLSL or GLSL
• Profile CPU and GPU performance and drive ongoing optimization

Team and Culture

• Provide mentorship and guidance to a high performing engineering team
• Contribute to a supportive and open culture where failure is seen as part of innovation
• Participate in hiring onboarding and ongoing team development
• Help cultivate an inclusive blame free environment that supports shared success

What We’re Looking For

• 7 plus years of experience in video game development with at least one AAA title shipped
• Deep understanding of GPU architecture and modern rendering techniques
• Hands-on experience with modern game engines Unreal a plus
• Strong debugging skills including memory and multi-threading issues
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Bonus Points For

• Background in physical simulation
• Experience with both proprietary and third party engines like Unreal or Unity
