UI/UX Developer Contract (12 Months, Potential to Extend) Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid currently 60/40 onsite, moving to 100% onsite) Duration: 12 months (with strong possibility of extension) About the Role We are seeking a
Senior UI/UX Developer
to join a high-impact technology team working on the
modernization of a large-scale enterprise platform . This is a unique opportunity to
own the design and development of the applications user interface and experience with no existing dedicated UI/UX resource on the team, you will be the
go-to expert
driving both
design strategy and hands-on development . Youll work closely with engineers to
migrate a legacy Angular application to a modern React-based platform
hosted in the cloud, building scalable, customer-facing solutions that will support
2,000+ internal users . What Youll Do Lead the
design and development of a new UI , creating wireframes, prototypes, and modern user experiences using tools like
Figma . Develop React-based UIs
integrated with new backend APIs, while supporting the migration from Angular. Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams to deploy and test applications in a
cloud environment (AWS or similar) . Drive consistency and usability by creating a
modern look & feel , ensuring scalability and performance. Work independently as the
sole UI/UX owner , while collaborating closely with backend engineers, product owners, and platform stakeholders. Must-Have Skills 5+ years React development experience
(expert-level in building UIs) Familiarity with
Angular
(to support migration) UI/UX design and wireframing
(Figma or similar tools) Understanding of
software deployment & CI/CD pipelines Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to contribute quicklyexpected to be coding React within first few days Nice-to-Have Skills Knowledge of
Java backend integration Cloud deployment experience ( AWS or other public cloud ) Exposure to
observability tools
