The ideal Senior Graphic Designer will bring a mix of artistic, marketing, and business expertise to the position, promoting our company and that of our valued clients. We are looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer with packaging design experience who can inspire and be inspired by others to take our creative efforts to the next level. The ideal candidate will have a natural eye for design and a passion for delivering dynamic ideas that connect with any audience.
Up to $90,000Hybrid:
4 days in the office (Encinitas, CA) with remote Tuesdays
This position requires management skills, creativity and production capabilitiesUphold and establish art department standards for production, productivity, quality, and client serviceEnsure budgets and deadlines are complete, accurate and followed as well as assist in developing and maintaining schedules for projectsEnsure team adheres to current processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and proposes and creates processes and tools to support design operationsAttend and/or lead meetings facilitated by the project manager and sales team to understand the goals and objectives throughout the stages of each project, while creating designs, presentations, and mock-ups aligning team priorities with business objectivesDevelop presentation approaches, styles, and techniques for the teamAnalyze market trends, consumer needs, and the competitor landscape, and track campaign performanceDemonstrates flexibility and is able to excel in ambiguous situationsGuide the design team to reduce errors, create efficiencies and inspire innovationRESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and conceptualize campaign vision, harnessing graphics, copy, and marketing materialsDevelop creative briefs based on ideas from brainstorming sessions, with direction, schedules, and deliverables for the creative teamDelegate projects to in-house designers and oversee all presentationsMaintain all design project timelines, determine priorities, and assess time allotted to each projectConcepting new artwork designs based on given direction with quick deadlinesCreating detailed dielines from scratch for new packagingCreating necessary digital and physical mock-ups, and presentations for buyersPreparing press-ready files, critical review of color proofs, tracking project status and timelinesEnsure all designs meet regulatory, FDA, and other required standards.Review all content and copy, ensure proper layout and color, and approve proofs as well as attend press checks, when requiredOrganizing & maintaining the art serverQUALIFICATIONS:
5 or more years of professional experience in graphic designMust have prior CPG packaging (specifically for Health, Beauty or Wellness) experience and have worked on packaging from initial ideation to final productionMust have strong knowledge of printing techniques and have a well-rounded understanding of proofing and printing processesStrong creative vision with attention to business objectivesAbility to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment which is adaptable to change and can balance multiple activities at once while making appropriate progress against them allSOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent skills with Adobe CC Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesignExperienced with MS Office SuiteExperience in packaging design and CPGStrong creative vision with attention to business objectivesStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and correctly prioritize multiple projects for themselves and others
