The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) is seeking an Assistant Editor for Alliance Life. This is a full-time position located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. This position works under the direction of the Managing Editor and is responsible for providing support for the planning, development, and production of the magazine,as well as providing the greater Development team copywriting and editorial support.. In the performance of these duties, this position will support the overall mission of the C&MA as described below.

Specific Duties

• Facilitate the Alliance Life email inbox and respond to reader inquiries and concerns via phone and email
• Coordinate subscriber management (subscribes/unsubscribes)
• Assist with outreach to authors and international workers (IWs) to obtain content, approvals, and photo permissions
• Support the planning and editorial process for six magazine issues annually, including developmental and copy editing
• Compile and edit the “Family” section, including generating reports, editing obituaries, and corresponding with district staff, individuals, and grieving families
• Support the managing editor in coordinating the editorial review process
• Conduct interviews and write original content for the magazine
• Prepare and refine messaging and content that promotes The Christian and Missionary Alliance’s mission, vision, and core values for dissemination through multiple media channels
• Provide administrative support for miscellaneous magazine-related items such as awards, freelancers, and advertisers, in coordination with the editor and designer
• Oversee the invoicing and billing process for the magazine
• Demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive); familiarity with project management tools such as ClickUp or Milanote is preferred
• Learn and utilize additional platforms and tools, including Virtuous (CRM), Core Integrator, and others as required

Requirements

• Four-year college degree in a related field preferred
• Requires 3–5 years of experience in a similar job to develop efficiency or to obtain some background of helpful precedents and principles
• Salary range $46,326 to $56,183 per year
