Qualifications:•Collaborates with clients, team lead, and/or project participants to understand the assignment, audience, and intended message. Under supervision, develops and designs projects from initial concept through final production, including proofing, file preparation, and distribution.•Builds PowerPoint Presentations and fact sheets, including infographics, charts, layout design, and other original elements for meetings and high-level presentations from leadership.•Designs brochures, trifolds, bifolds, posters, business cards, signs, and other promotional content that conveys a professional image for internal and external meetings, events, and conferences.•Develops a variety of social media graphics, infographics, templates, and other original content for a public audience, partners, and stakeholders.•Experience in print publication design and layout - such as newsletters, briefs, and reports - compositing articles, graphics, photographs, announcements, and other elements into a cohesive, professional product.•Website design includes designing banners, notices, and the overall look of the external website and internal SharePoint intranet site that projects a professional, polished image.•Provides photo support to include photographing and editing events, retouching official portraits, and working with RAW file formats.•Must understand the basics of composition, exposure, color, vectors, alpha channels, and typography with an excellent eye for detail. Stays up to date on the latest industry trends to include fonts, color palettes, software, hardware, and design techniques.•Demonstrates impeccable attention to detail. Proven ability to translate complex information into engaging visuals to convey a message, story, or solve a problem while aligning to branding guidelines and strategic goals.•Performs other multimedia roles, as needed, to support the DASA DE&C mission.•Photography experience is a preferred.
Portfolio:•Must provide a portfolio (digital or web URL) of fact sheets, newsletters, presentations, brochures, charts/graphs, social media, and logos that demonstrates examples of professional work and mastery of technical and creative design skills. Samples of event photography is a plus.•Clearly identifies the roles performed on each project if there were multiple contributors.
Location: Arlington, VA
Education: BS or BA degree preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in graphics design with a portfolio that demonstrates diverse creative and technical skills on projects for internal and external audiences in print and digital formats.
