Who We Are
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. As an organization that combines expertise developed from the daily practice of immigration law with a deep commitment to advocacy, RAICES is unique among immigration organizations. We provide a holistic approach to immigrants. RAICES not only assists immigrants in navigating through complicated immigration laws, but we also assist immigrants with social needs through case management and providing assistance with housing.

Protecting the health and safety of employees and clients remains essential. We currently practice social distancing and encourage masks in all public areas. RAICES is using a phased-in approach to return staff to resume in-office operations.
This position will require working remotely and in-office at the assigned work location. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.

Travel to San Antonio will be required based on business and operational needs.The Senior Grant Writer supports RAICES' program operations by providing comprehensive pre- and post-award assistance. This position has access to corporate documents, risk management records, salaries, and stang models. Strict confidentiality is required. This position has access to all staff planning, budgeted staff salaries, budget to actual spending, insurance-related documents, and organization planning.Responsibilities:Manage an active portfolio of government and non-government institutional funders.Research and cultivate prospective grant and contract opportunities from government and non-government institutional funders.Draft and coordinate the planning and preparation of grant and contract concept notes, letters of inquiry, and proposals with the Legal Operations Manager and relevant staff.Serve as a liaison to institutional funders, identifying and cultivating a series of meaningful engagement opportunities to sustain interest in and long-term support of RAICES.Participate in short- and long-term strategic planning in order to meet revenue generation goals.Cultivate relationships between internal program leadership and funders, as relevant.Support Finance on the development of grant budgets, budget narratives, budget modifications and other components of applications.Maintain confidentiality of organization stang models and financial and salary information related to the budget and application process.Participate in evaluation and monitoring of grant and contract funded requirements and deliverables in accordance with proposed standards and expectations of awarded applications.Collaborate with the Chief External Affairs Ocer (CEAO) and Chief Financial Ocer/Chief Operating Ocer (CFO/COO) to develop and maintain internal tracking of grant/contract objectives and deliverables within the funding period.Collaborate with the Legal Operations Manager to ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting.Work closely with the CEAO and CFO/COO to track revenue goals, key deliverables, and other KPIs.Develop and maintain master files on grants and contracts applied for and awarded. Maintain and update library of reference documents for the purpose of grant and contract submissions.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Social Sciences, or other relevant field.7 years experience in grant-writing for government and non-government institutional funders and coordination with Finance on the development of grant budgets, budget narratives, and budget modifications.
Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Business, Communication, Social Sciences, or other relevant field.10 years experience managing multiple grants.3 years experience soliciting funding support for immigration services and refugee resettlement.
