Anticipated Hire Date: Late September, early October, 2025
GeekSI covers 100 percent employer contribution toward health insurance premiums for employees and 50 percent for dependents.
We are looking for a remote Technical Writer to develop, edit, and maintain high-quality documentation that communicates complex technical and operational information clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders. This includes program deliverables, user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), briefing materials, training documentation, compliance documentation, and other written artifacts in support of the project's mission. The role collaborates closely with developers, engineers, product owners, project managers, and functional leads to ensure that documentation is accurate, clear, accessible, and compliant with Section 508 and other federal standards.
The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- Must currently reside in the US
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
- Experience: 2 years of experience as a Technical Writer
- Experience in developing, editing, and maintaining high-quality documentation that simplifies complex technical and operational information
- Skilled in researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings
- Proficient in various tools within the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience with Section 508 compliance
Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
- Work with stakeholders on product and documentation requirements
- Writing easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
- Potentially create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
- Create and maintain the information architecture
- Translate technical software documentation from Health Industry terms into useable, easily understood content
