Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Music Therapist - Contractor to join our team of professionals who are dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals and families for the achievement of improving their mental health. Join our team and discover a rewarding, fulfilling career. Brentwood Hospital is a 260-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Brentwood has served Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas for more than 45 years. We provide quality services to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. We help individuals and families achieve optimal mental health, resulting in improved quality of life. A dedicated professional team provides individualized treatment, meeting the personal needs of our patients in a safe and nurturing environment. The Music Therapist provides therapeutic recreational and activity services to adult, adolescent or child patients under Brentwood's care for emotional or substance abuse problems. The contract therapist will provide music therapy or art therapy activities under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services. Essential Job Functions: Therapies are age appropriate, consistent with level of growth, development, and functioning, consistent with overall treatment goals, demonstrates sound application of theory/methodology and contributes effectively to patient progress. Sufficiently plans and prepares for activities; reports to assigned groups in timely fashion. Maintains the administrative documentation associated with services rendered. Participates in the effective allocation of departmental resources; provides requested budget and purchasing input to supervisor in a timely and accurate manner. Participates in the ongoing implementation of the department's or service's continuous quality improvement plan. Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Music Therapy required Licensure/Certification: MT-BC preferred Experience: Previous behavioral health experience preferred Hours: Determined by the Director of Clinical Services according to the needs of the facility and contract therapist availability. Schedule determined prior to hire.
