Position Overview Amentum is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist Supervisor to join our team in Springfield, VA. The role involves maintaining and supporting telecommunications systems to ensure operational readiness for senior decision-makers. An active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses. Responsibilities Manage availability, performance, and testing of mission-critical communication systems including IT and RF-based voice, video, data, and information feeds. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and restore communication systems, coordinating with third-party providers as needed. Oversee team scheduling, workload, and ensure compliance with standards and policies. Conduct annual performance reviews and team development. Apply expertise to determine operational actions and brief customers on system status. Set up, operate, and train users on voice, video, and data networks, including radio and satellite systems. Make tactical decisions in stressed environments to meet mission objectives. Prioritize tasks and manage dynamic workloads to meet customer expectations. Identify and recommend process improvements and innovative operational approaches. Collaborate with customers on future system capabilities, supporting design, testing, and installation. Ensure proper configuration management and documentation. Travel as required (20-40%) for support and surge operations. Requirements Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance, adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience. Experience with circuit setup, troubleshooting, and equipment installation. Experience with communication travel kits (e.g., SWE-DISH, Hawkeye, StarLink). Proficiency with VTC and RF equipment, Sat Phones, CradlePoints, WiFi devices. Ability to obtain CompTIA IT Security Certification within 6 months. Preferred Qualifications Four years of college in a technical discipline plus ten years of related experience, or equivalent experience totaling 15 years. Experience as a Network or Systems Administrator. Operational military communications experience. Knowledge of mid-range computer hardware and software. Training experience in setup and troubleshooting of communication equipment.
