Job Description: Project Interface Coordinator – Communications and Security
POSITION DESCRIPTION
MUST HAVE COMMUNICATIONS & SECURITY EXPERIENCE. Your responsibilities will encompass essential project and engineering management duties, emphasizing the establishment of an execution framework that aligns with interface management responsibilities, safety, and quality.
Interface management/coordination in projects is crucial for ensuring that different components of a project work together seamlessly. It focuses on managing the interactions between various project scopes, which might include different systems, teams, or contractors. This includes:
- Defining Interfaces: Identifying and defining points of interaction between different components of the construction project, such as electrical and mechanical systems or between construction phases.
- Coordination and Communication: Ensuring clear communication and coordination between different teams or systems, including regular meetings, detailed documentation, and collaborative tools.
- Resolving Conflicts: Addressing conflicts from overlapping work or misalignments between scopes, involving mediation and schedule adjustments.
- Documentation: Keeping detailed records of interface management to understand project flow and resolve disputes.
- Risk Management: Proactively identifying and managing risks related to interfaces to prevent delays and cost overruns.
Effective interface engineering and management can reduce project risks, improve efficiency, and ensure timely, within-budget completion.
Key Responsibilities
Interface Management Excellence:
- Develop and implement interface management strategies and plans, documenting and closing out interfaces systematically.
- Maintain current and accurate interface systems, tables, and matrices.
- Lead regular meetings and teleconferences to align teams and share information.
- Collaborate with the project team, client, and external stakeholders to identify and address interfaces, integrating procedures into the overall plan.
- Establish and communicate clear protocols for interface management.
- Proactively initiate actions to expedite technical interfacing and stakeholder engagement.
- Present interface management processes to internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, clients, licensors, contractors, and government agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have Communications & Security experience.
- Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction).
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Satisfactory background check and drug screening results.
- Proactive, goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in technical and business writing.
- Basic computer skills: word processing, email, spreadsheets, presentations.
- High standards of self-performance, responsibility, and accountability.
- Commitment to quality, timeliness, and project success.
Additional Considerations
- International project experience and cultural adaptability are highly valued.
- Focus on engineering management initiatives.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in project roles demonstrating expertise in interface management, project controls, and engineering or construction.
- Successful track record as a Project Manager or Engineer on large-scale projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly recommended.
- An engineering degree is preferred; highly qualified designers/support specialists will also be considered.
Note: This role requires travel, with mobility greater than 25%.
Location: Houston, TX or Greenville, SC. Remote work possible on a case-by-case basis for highly qualified candidates, at the client’s discretion. Local candidates or those willing to relocate at their expense are preferred.
