Job Description
The Voinovich School works to find solutions to challenges facing communities, the economy, and the environment in Appalachia Ohio, throughout the State of Ohio, and beyond. The Regional GIS Student Intern for GVS will work collaboratively with regional development district GIS staff members and others to expedite datea collection, datea creation, and analysis. The Intern will also communicate effectively with collaborative partners and may provide assistance in authoring reports and presentations in a timely manner to meet project deadlines. The Intern will also assist in maintaining various GIS data communication platforms, such as web apps, dashboards, and infographics.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must be an Ohio University student who has taken or is taking at least one class in Geographic Information Systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Major in GIS, Geography, or related field. Keen understanding of ArcGIS software suite and analytical tools, online tools, and applicable extensions. Candidate should have experience in creating maps, web maps, web layers, adn geospatial analysis. Must be well-organized to manage time effectively and posses excellent spoken and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
