The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) Director of Marketing leads, develops and executes comprehensive marketing strategies and branding efforts that align with the organization’s overall goals and objectives.ResponsibilitiesBranding & Advertising – 40%Oversee the implementation of an economic development marketing strategy, including branding and advertising plans, that increases brand awareness and communicates the Baton Rouge Area’s advantages for businessOversee the implementation of a talent attraction and retention marketing strategy, including branding and advertising plans, that increases brand awareness and communicates the Baton Rouge Area’s advantages for young professionalsOversee a marketing program that supports and enhances BRAC's brand position and outreach marketing programs, including event marketing (specific marketing tactics may include direct mail, digital marketing, advertising, social media, and publications)Work with Marketing staff and external agencies to execute successful marketing programs, serve as a bridge between teams, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and elevate effortsManage implementation and execution of annual advertising strategyOversee special high value/visibility marketing projects at the direction of the Senior Vice President of MarketingWebsite Management – 30%Direct successful web strategies that promote the Baton Rouge Area’s business location advantages and increases top of mind awareness that the Baton Rouge Area is a prime location for business and talentAnalyze web site usage to improve user experience and identify potential marketing opportunitiesDirect user-management strategy for each CMS, including training and support for related web entitiesDefine process and strategy for executing successful project websites, communicating best practices, and evolving the tool as neededLeadership & Project Management – 20%Manage various creative projects and oversee them to completionProvide clear direction and clearly communicate goals of BRAC to staff and inform external stakeholders and clientsDevelop methods/procedures to streamline various creative processes and continue to identify areas for improvement to make both the Marketing team and BRAC more effective moving forwardIdentify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordinglyManage project timelines, deliverables, and budgetsOther Duties – 10%Assist Senior Vice President of Marketing in management of department as requiredSupport department activities as needed (e.g. staffing events)Manage content and assets, in conjunction with other marketing team membersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or related fieldMinimum 5-7 years of marketing or advertising experienceProven leadership in managing creative projects across multiple channels (print, digital, video)Basic understanding of economic development principles and state and local government programsConsiderable and successful experience in developing and implementing effective marketing, advertising, and branding programsExcellent project management and deadline management skillsBudget management experience and working with external agenciesExperience in mentoring junior team membersStrong analytical skills for measuring and optimizing marketing effectivenessAbility to lift 30-40 lbs.Mission and ValuesBRAC exists to accelerate economic opportunity in the Baton Rouge Area, for everyone.BRAC’s core values:Curious: We courageously step outside our comfort zones.Objective: We base our perspective and policy on unbiased analysis.Optimistic: We shape a future where success is not just achieved but redefined.Effectual: Focused on what we can control and influence, we lead with purposeful action.Collaborative: We believe our strength is in our partnerships.Authentic: We revel in the privilege of doing meaningful work.
