In this role, you’ll work to promote new releases ranging from picture books to young adult/teen titles. You’ll schedule interviews for authors with broadcast, print and online media, and be responsible for setting up multi-city author tours. Of course, you’ll also write press releases, pitch letters and other promotional materials, while working closely with the marketing, sales, online marketing and editorial teams.
To be considered, you should have significant prior work experience in book publicity, with an emphasis on booking top-line media and author tours. Extensive knowledge of the media, as well as relationships with book reviewers, magazine editors and bloggers are more must-haves. Detail-oriented team players with an interest in children’s books and social media should apply here.
