The Philadelphia-based branding company Finch has hired John Ferreira as vice president of brand strategy and Mallory Oliver as director of marketing. As VP of Brand Strategy, John actively leads brand strategy engagements for Finch Brands. Prior to joining Finch, he spent 11 years at Campbell Soup Company in leadership roles spanning Brand Management, Consumer & Customer Insights and New Product Commercialization. John led brands such as Campbell’s Chunky Soup, Prego Italian Sauce and Swanson Broth to new heights of consumer engagement and financial performance. Finch’s website says that Mallory Oliver, armed with a passion and curiosity for all things branding, advertising, and new technology, constantly exceeds the expectations of current and prospective clients while driving the awareness and visibility of Finch Brands. With an extensive background in hands-on account management and developing unique marketing plans, Mallory is constantly on the hunt for new ideas, new channels, and new ways that brands can get their message to those who matter most. McGarryBowen, a Dentsu Aegis Network agency, announced that Rick Hirst will be joining as CEO of the company’s London office next month. In his new role, Hirst will partner with mcgarrybowen London’s leadership team to grow existing client relationships and further fuel new business. A former Campaign “Face to Watch,” Hirst joins from The Engine Group, one of the UK’s largest and independent communications companies. There, Rick serves as a Client Managing Director leading a cross media team on the agency’s BMW account. Concurrently, Mr. Hirst is also a Managing Partner at WCRS, the advertising agency owned by The Engine Group, where he leads a number of accounts, including Warburtons, Global Radio, and Safestore. Venables Bell & Partners has hired veteran planner Michael Davidson as its new head of strategy. Davidson joins Venables after six years at Omnicom’s Goodby Silverstein & Partners, where he worked on accounts like Sprint and Xfinity. In his new role, Davidson will oversee day-to-day management of 21 staffers in the agency’s strategy department. That role was previously handled by Lucy Farey-Jones, a partner at the agency to whom Davidson will report. (AdWeek)
