The LIVESTRONG Foundation announced the appointments of Candice Toll Aaron and Jeremiah Robins to its Board of Directors. Aaron, who currently serves as a compliance leader at GE Capital, is a lawyer with significant experience in corporate governance and a survivor of papillary thyroid cancer; she is both a founding member and current chair of the LIVESTRONG Young Leader’s Cancer Council and a member of the LIVESTRONG Foundation’s President’s Circle.
Robins, who lost his first wife Stephanie to cancer, has a long-standing devotion to philanthropic causes. He is the chairman and CEO of Great Pond Management Company, LLC (GPMC), a U.S.-based private equity firm specializing in the acquisition and redevelopment of underperforming manufacturing companies. In addition to his work there, Robins is chairman and CEO of Rotation Dynamics Corporation, a multinational manufacturer of consumables. (Release)
Marty Machowsky is joining the Washington, DC office of Widmeyer Communications. Machowsky will provide strategic counsel to healthcare and technology clients as senior vice president in the firm’s public affairs practice–he brings experience both on Capitol Hill and as a communications professional to Widmeyer, which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary as one of Washington and New York’s leading independent communications firms. Prior to joining Widmeyer, Machowsky held positions at McGuireWoods Consulting, Edelman and Issue Dynamics. He also worked for several congressional representatives in roles like legislative director, press secretary and legislative assistant. (Release)
