Tech Round Up: Twitter Buys RestEngine; Digg Staff To Work at WaPo

If you have been lagging and not Tweeting, Twitter has a plan to get you back. Twitter has acquired RestEngine, a personalized email service that will send out a “best of” list each week to show you all the fun you’ve been missing. Twitter will take on RestEngine employees as well as the company.

The Washington Post‘s Social Code has finished its hiring of Digg employees, and will put them to work on its new service, helping businesses buy ads via social media.

PR411 has launched, a new discussion to keep PR practitioners and reporters in the loop about working in the industry. It’s designed to give both sides a place to express their views, rant, advise, and ask questions, with the aim of improving working relationships. It also, of course, has a Facebook page.

Santa Clara, California’s Network Clean is now available in beta. The service is sort of a sweeper of inappropriateness on social media, which scans your accounts for posts, comments, or the like that might damage your social image. Then it sends you an alert.

Cannes Lions will debut “Tech Talk” this year at the annual festival in France. A series of curated talks from the leaders of digital media and marketing companies, the Talks will happen twice a day Monday through Friday at the Festival.
