ABC Correspondent Shuffle: Sy, Ward Relocate, Marquardt Joins Network

sy_6-4b.jpgABC News announced several overseas correspondent changes today.

Stephanie Sy (pictured), who has been reporting from ABC’s Beijing bureau since 2007, relocates to New York. Clarissa Ward, who had been the network’s Moscow correspondent, becomes the Beijing reporter.

Alexander Marquardt becomes ABC News’ digital reporter in Moscow. He comes to the network from CNN, where he most recently was “embedded” with various candidates during the 2008 presidential campaign.

ABC World News Wins Overseas Award

ABC News picked up an Overseas Press Club Award last night — the only broadcast network to win an award.

World News with Charles Gibson won for the David Kaplan Award for best TV spot news reporting from abroad. The winning series of segments, “China’s Earthquake,” featured correspondents Stephanie Sy and Neal Karlinsky.

Ted Koppel won an Edward R. Murrow Award for his Discovery Network series, “The People’s Republic of Capitalism.” Here are all the winners.
