Andrea Cambern Anchors Final Newscast at WBNS

“It’s the time we all knew would come but didn’t want to think about,” WBNS anchor Jerry Revish told viewers during the CBS-affiliate’s 11 p.m. newscast on Wednesday. “It’s time to say ‘thank you’ one last time to Andrea Cambern for her service to 10TV and Central Ohio.”

Last October, Cambern announced that she would be leaving WBNS after more than 20 years behind the anchor desk. With the May book coming to an end, she bid farewell to her longtime home this week. Read more

WBNS Picks WBBM Reporter Kristyn Hartman to Replace Longtime Anchor Andrea Cambern

Last October, longtime WBNS anchor Andrea Cambern announced that she would be stepping down from the anchor desk in May.  And now the Columbus CBS-affiliate has announced who will be taking her place alongside Jerry Revish, on the station’s main anchor team.

Kristyn Hartman, a general assignment reporter with Chicago’s WBBM for the past seven years, is joining WBNS and will take over for Cambern at the beginning of June.

“Kristyn embodies everything that was important to us in our search for a new anchor,” WBNS president and general manager Tom Griesdorn said, in announcing the move.  “An affinity for local news, a desire to impact change in her community, and a personality that will be a leader in our newsroom and a delight for our viewers.” Read more

Longtime Anchor Andrea Cambern Leaving WBNS

Longtime WBNS anchor Andrea Cambern announced today that she is stepping down from the anchor desk. She is set to leave her spot on WBNS’s perennially top-rated 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts in May.

In a staff meeting this afternoon, Cambern told her WBNS colleagues that “after twenty-years, it is simply the right time.” Cambern said that she plans to continue her commitment to various charitable organizations in central Ohio. Read more

Every WBNS Newscast Finishes #1 in February

Columbus’s WBNS has once again proven to be, as it calls itself, “Central Ohio’s News Leader.”

For the February sweeps period, the CBS-affiliate’s newscasts finished #1 in all of their respective time periods.

Here’s a run-down of the results:

The morning newscasts with Jeff Hogan, Angela An, and Mike Davis:
4:30 a.m.: 2.3 rating, 11 share
5:00 a.m.: 4.1 rating, 17 share
6:00 a.m.: 6.3 rating, 20 share

The evening newscasts with Andrea Cambern, Jerry Revish and Chris Bradley:
5:00/5:30 p.m.: 9.9 rating, 19 share
6:00 p.m.: 10.4 rating, 19 share
11:00 p.m.: 10.1 rating, 19 share
