Richard Jordan Named Weekend Anchor at WRC

Richard Jordan has been named weekend morning anchor at WRC in Washington, DC.

Jordan joins the NBC O&O from WSVN, the Fox-affiliate in Miami, where he has been a reporter for four years.

“Richard’s solid reporting background will no doubt stand out in the Washington area,” WRC vice president of news Camille Edwards said in a statement. “But we’re also excited about what he will bring to our weekend morning newscasts.”

Jordan, who officially joins the station today, will co-anchor with Angie Goff.

Angie Goff moves across the street in Washington D.C. where she will be the new weekend morning anchor and reporter for WRC, after working at WUSA.

Amber Sullins, AMS sealed CBM, has been promoted to chief meteorologist at KNXV in Phoenix. Sullins grew up in Phoenix and attended the University of Arizona.

Mike Marza becomes evening anchor of the 4, 4:30, 5 and 6pm newscasts for Sunbeam’s WSVN in Miami. Most recently, Marza spent more than a year in New York freelancing for ABC News as an overnight anchor and morning correspondent. Read more

WUSA’s Angie Goff Set to Join Rival WRC in Washington, DC

Angie Goff, who has been the morning traffic and entertainment reporter at Washington, DC CBS affiliate WUSA since 2007, announced yesterday that she will join rival station WRC, the NBC O&O, this fall.

“Excited to announce I’m joining NBC Washington as the new weekend morning anchor,” Goff wrote on her Facebook page.

Goff was born in South Korea and moved to DC-suburb Herndon, VA, when she was a teenager. A graduate of George Mason University, she has previously worked at both KMEG in Sioux City and WIS in Columbia, SC as an anchor-reporter.

Goff’s Facebook and Twitter accounts have been flooded with well-wishes from viewers in the past day, prompting her to Tweet, “Overwhelmed with all the congrats! Thank you so much everybody! Remember to keep those story tips and ideas coming!”
