HLN’s Kyra Phillips Talks About Life After the Jodi Arias Trial

Kyra Phillips paid her dues at stations like KAMC in Lubbock, TX, WLUK in Green Bay, WI, WDSU in New Orleans and KCBS in Los Angeles before making the jump to the national stage in 1999 with CNN.

In this episode of Media Beat, the “Raising America” anchor tells TVNewser’s managing editor Chris Ariens she sees both an opportunity and a challenge in the increased viewership the Jodi Arias murder trial has brought to HLN. “I want to say to them, ‘OK, I get it. I understand you’re interested in this. OK, we can give you some of that. We can continue to give you that. But also give me a chance to show you another way that we do TV, another way that we do news.”
