Jessica Janner Promoted to Anchor at KTNV

After a year as a reporter at Las Vegas ABC affiliate KTNV, Jessica Janner is moving to the anchor desk.

Janner will join the morning newscast alongside anchors Beth Fisher and Casey Smith, meteorologist Mike Tsolinas and traffic reporter Micah Manalo. She will also co-anchor the 11 a.m. newscast alongside Smith.

“I’m truly excited to join the team on Good Morning Las Vegas. It’s my goal to help add to its exceptional energy, sincere community impact and reliable information,” Janner said in a statement. “I consider the valley my home and share in KTNV’s endeavor to make it a ‘better place to live.’”

Before joining KNTV, Janner worked at KAMR-KCIT in Amarillo, Texas.

Brandy Sanchez Named VP-GM of KAMR

Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced today that Brandy Sanchez has been named vice president and general manager of KAMR, the company’s NBC-affiliate in Amarillo, TX.

Sanchez will also oversee KCIT and KCPN, the market’s Mission Broadcasting stations, under Nexstar’s joint operating agreement with Mission.

Sanchez has spent the past 18 years working in Amarillo TV. She joined KCIT in 1994 as a traffic assistant, eventually climbing the ranks to become director of sales for KAMR, KCIT, and KCPN.

Mark McKay Takes Over as VP-GM of KTAL

Mark McKay has been appointed vice president and general manager at KTAL, the NBC-affiliate in Shreveport, LA, Nexstar Broadcasting announced today.

McKay’s appointment is a move within Nexstar — he joins KTAL from KAMR-KCIT-KCPN in Amarillo, TX, where he has been vice president and general manager since 2004. The new position is a return to KTAL for McKay, who began his broadcasting career as an anchor at the station in 1980.

Nexstar COO Brian Jones called McKay “the ideal person” to lead KTAL.

“He has an impressive background in all aspects of our business, and a proven track-record of leading teams that delivered compelling and effective marketing solutions for local and national advertisers,” Jones said in a statement.

KAMR’s Brad Fralick Joins WYFF As Sports Director

WYFF in Greenville, SC, announced that Brad Fralick will join the station as sports director. Fralick replaces Geoff Hart, who was recently named morning co-anchor at the NBC affiliate after 18 years as sports director.

Fralick, who will start tomorrow evening, has been sports director at KAMR-KCIT in Amarillo since 2005. He will join Carol Goldsmith, Michael Cogdill and John Cessarich on the weeknight 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts.

“Brad brings a great passion for sports to the upstate,”  news director Justin Antoniotti said. “I know he will work hard to get to know the coaches, athletes and fans at Clemson, Carolina, Furman and local high schools throughout our region.”

Fralick will provide WYFF with extended coverage of both college and high school football for Greenville this fall.
