KTBC Adds Anchor to ‘Good Day Austin’

salinas_kdafAmanda Salinas has been named anchor for “Good Day Austin,” the morning news show for Austin FOX owned station KTBC.

“As a native Texan, who graduated from the University of Texas and has spent most of her career reporting and anchoring here, there is no one better versed on all things Austin than Amanda,” KTBC vice president and news director Pam Vaught said in a statement.

Salinas comes to KTBC from KDAF in Dallas. She has also worked at WPBF in West Palm Beach, WFAA in Dallas, KCEN in Waco and KGNS in Laredo, TX.

Beginning January 20, she joins Dave Froehlich, Zack Shields and Keri Bellacosa on “Good Day” and Froehlich as anchor on the Noon news.

Dave Froehlich Joins KTBC From KRIS

Dave Froehlich is joining KTBC, the Fox O&O in Austin, as co-anchor of “Good Day Austin.”

Froehlich joins KTBC from KRIS, the NBC affiliate in Corpus Christi, where he was an anchor and reporter. He has also worked at WDAF in Kansas City, KVII in Amarillo and KREX in Grand Junction, Colo.

“Dave will be a real asset to our newsroom. His intelligence, quick wit and experience covering news in Texas make him a great fit for our morning news,” KTBC vice president and news director Pam Vaught said in a statement.

Froehlich will co-anchor alongside Keri Bellacosa and meteorologist Zack Shields. He replaces Greg Kerr, who is leaving KTBC after just a year with the station.

Greg Kerr Joins KTBC as Morning Anchor

Greg Kerr will be KTBC‘s morning anchor beginning July 16, the Austin Fox O&O announced today.

Kerr joins KTBC from corporate cousin Fox Sports Southwest, where is a Dallas-based freelance anchor and reporter. Prior to that, he served as sports director and news anchor for WFMY in Greensboro for nine years. Kerr began his career at KTBC more than 20 years ago.

“I’ve traded my sports hat and enthusiastically move over to the news side and I couldn’t be more excited about re-establishing myself with FOX 7 and the Austin area community,” Kerr said in a statement. Read more
