WHTM Reporter Chris Cekot Arrested For Assault

Chris Cekot, a reporter at Harrisburg ABC-affiliate WHTM, was arrested Sunday night on charges of domestic assault and terroristic threats, according to the station.

Police were called to the Fairview Township, PA home Cekot shares with his girlfriend at 9:30 p.m. last night, according to The Patriot-News. When the police arrived, they found Cekot’s girlfriend had injuries on her lip and ear.

The station mentioned Cekot’s arrest briefly on the 5 p.m. newscast this evening, reading a short statement from WHTM management.

“Chris Cekot is accused of a serious crime,” the statement reads. “His guilt or innocence will be determined in court. ABC27 will have no further comment on the matter.”

When asked for comment by the Patriot-News, WHTM news director Dennis Fisher refused to comment on Cekot’s employment status. He has been a reporter at the station since 2007.
