Why did they change the name? Why don’t they care about web designers? Why does it cost so much money? AIGA Executive Director Ric Grefe answers all these and more in this lecture at the Walker Art Center.
Detractor or supporter, graphic or web, member or nonmember; if you haven’t had a chance to see Grefe speak about AIGA’s vision, it’s a great opportunity to see a smart take on the state of design and what the largest national professional organization of designers is doing about it. We must say we didn’t understand a lot of what the whole name-changing, design-to-designing, artifacts vs. experiences stuff was about until we saw Grefe with his charts and graphs. It was powerful enough to get this half of UnBeige to do some work for AIGA last year.
