Parker: "Ogilvy bloodbath in January?"
George Parker is reporting on his blog, AdScam/TheHorror that there could be massive layoffs at Ogilvy New York after the new year. An agency representative declined to comment on Parker's assertion, but noted Holly Sanders' story in the NY Post today, which stated, "Ad executives and recruiters expect agencies, which have been cutting in dribs and drabs, to hand out a flurry of pink slips early next year as the ad downturn worsens. Parker: "Strong rumors out of Ogilvy, New York that management is looking at letting 200 250 staffers go right after Christmas. Suggested timing for this wonderful event will be around the 8th or the 15th of January." Ogilvy is a WPP agency. More: "Ogilvy Names Worldwide Creative Director" Email This Post |
