-MDC Partners has hired former Harrah’s & Caesars Entertainment CMO David Norton to lead analytics and consumer insights efforts across the network.

-Marc Landsberg, former CEO of MRM Worldwide and ARC Worldwide, has formed a new social media agency called socialdeviant. link

-And now, another anonymous E*Trade tip, verbatim: “We are pitching Etrade today. The brief is to move beyond the baby.” Well, we could’ve figured that out but there are a few familiar names being thrown out there from the Omnicoms and WPPs of the world, but as expected, they’re not commenting.

-Shaq and hip-hop artist Tyga try to have an, um, uplifting conversation while promoting the former’s rather hypnotic “Shaqnosis” sneakers” in a new spot from BBDO NY for Foot Locker (above).

Kolb Replaces Landsberg as CEO of MRM

There’s a leadership change afoot at MRM as Bill Kolb is taking over for Marc Landsberg as CEO of the agency. Kolb has spent quite some time within the McCann Worldgroup umbrella, serving as global president/COO of Momentum in the early aughts before moving on to assume the CFO/COO title at MRM. In 2007, Kolb was promoted to global president/COO at MRM. Landsberg, meanwhile, has spent the last year in a dual role as both CEO of MRM and president of corporate business development for McCann Worldgroup, but will now focus specifically on the latter’s corporate strategic development and acquisition initiatives.

The now-former CEO of MRM, who has served as global president of Arc Worldwide and led corporate strategy function at Leo Burnett during his ad career, offers a lengthy statement about the transition, saying, “Running MRM for the past year has been an amazing professional and personal highlight of my career. Rarely have I encountered such talent – driven, collaborative, wildly smart, and relentless. Working with Bill, I feel really proud of our progress this year against our 5-year plan – our renewed focus on clients, our vision, our new leadership team in the Americas, our financial progress, and our new business momentum – and am highly confident that under Bill’s leadership, the momentum will continue if not accelerate. I’m excited about working closely with Nick and the McCann Worldgroup leadership team to advance our strategic agenda.”

McCann Worldgroup Shakes Up Leadership

Nick Brien‘s been a busy man this week it seems as the CEO of McCann Worldgroup has announced leadership changes across various units including MRM, McCann Healthcare and Worldgroup itself. Most notable is the appointment of Marc Landsberg to CEO of MRM Worldwide. Landsberg replaces Reuben Hendell, who spent the last six years as head of the agency but is now “leaving” we’ve been told.

Landsberg arrives from private equity firm Lake Capital, but held senior exec posts at Arc Worldwide and Leo Burnett. While we’re on the MRM tip, the agency added a few other staffers to its NYC HQ including John Running as SVP, director of technology, Martha Pearlstone as SVP, brand leader on General Mills and Diageo as well as Shannon Di Paola as VP, director of search.

Along with the MRM leadership shift, 14-year McCann Healthcare vet John Cahill has been named global CEO of said unit. As for the Worldgroup , Tara Comonte succeeds Gary Lee as CFO,  Patrick Lafferty is joining to lead the newly created Global Brand Community.  Overseas, McCann is splitting up its EMEA region, with Brett Gosper continuing to head Europe and Luca Linder adding the Middle East and Africa to his Latin America/Caribbean responsibilities.
