Lady Gaga Passes 11 Million Twitter Followers, Gains One Million In Just 37 Days

Back in May we reported on how Lady Gaga had become the first Twitter user to reach 10 million followers, a milestone she reached around midnight ET on May 14, 2011.

Now, a little over five weeks later, her follower tally has moved above 11 million. Not only has she gained almost a million users in a month, she’s actually picking up pace.

Gaga reached nine million Twitter followers on March 25, 2011. It took her 50 days to reach 10 million (May 14), and just 37 days to reach 11 million (June 20).

If this pace continues, she should pass 12 million followers on July 18. For the sake of comparison, it took Ashton Kutcher 91 days to become the first Twitter user to reach one million followers back in April 2009. Both marks are still a long way short of Charlie Sheen’s official Twitter record, which saw him reach one million users in just 25 hours and 17 minutes.

On May 28, Justin Bieber became the second Twitter user to reach 10 million followers. But while Bieber closed to within 380,000 users earlier in the year, Gaga has now started to pull away, with the gap between the two now back above half a million.
