MLB All Star Game Dominates Twitter With More Than 1 Million Tweets

Yesterday’s MLB All Star Game was also an All Star on Twitter, with more than 1 million tweets about the game including a peak of 23,00 tweets per minute for Mariano Rivera’s relief appearance.

Rivera also racked up 350,000 mentions during and following the game, as fans turned to Twitter to keep up with the broadcast and express opinions.

The @MLB account was active all night long, posting exclusive Vine interviews with players, snippets of real-time on-the-field action, and minute-by-minute commentary on the game.

The Twitter conversation around the Home Run Derby was equally dynamic. Check out the infographic below for stats.
