Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is garnering a lot of buzz online, and it’s about to hit new heights. The UK TV network Channel 4 will air the world premier of the official trailer this weekend, followed by the first-ever commercial chock-full of live Twitter reactions.
According to MediaWeek, Channel 4 will air the Prometheus trailer during the first commercial break of “Homeland” on Sunday April 29th.
Between the airing of the trailer and the second commercial break, viewers will be asked to share their thoughts on Twitter using the hashtag #areyouseeingthis.
During the second commercial break, select tweets will be aired live in a 40 second spot to support the trailer.
This is the first commercial of its kind, airing live tweets on TV. It will be put together by the 20th Century Fox creative department.
This is a great way to create buzz around Prometheus and make sure the conversations on Twitter are amplified. It also reinforces positive sentiment around the movie, as the tweets selected for live airing will no doubt be among those most satisfied with the trailer.
