More than three-quarters of U.S. small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are currently using social media as part of their digital marketing arsenal, reveals a new study.
In their The State Of Digital Marketing For SMBs March 2013 report, Vocus and Inc. Magazine discovered that social media marketing is being used by 77.3 percent of SMBs, and almost one-quarter (24.9 percent) rated it as one of the top three most effective tools for their marketing needs.
A brand website was deemed as the best tool for SMB digital marketing, in use by 86.6 percent of SMBs with 33.9 percent rating it effective. Social media finished second in both categories, ahead of email marketing, customer service email support and video/photo promotion.
