Social Media Revolution: A Parody [VIDEO]

UK humor website The Poke produced a hilarious short video parodying social media, and we want to share it with you.

Follow The Poke on Twitter for more “time well wasted” (that’s their motto).

And check out the video, below.

Our favorite “stats”:

-1 in 3 burglars is an Ebay Powerseller.

-In their lifetime, a web user spends 1 day deleting “Enter Your Search Here” text from search boxes.

-27% of Facebook’s server capacity is required to store the word “lol.”

-If Twitter raised the character limit from 140 to 200, it would finally allow 90 million German speakers to finish a sentence.

The takeaway from the video is that “social media is the end of reliable information.”

But while the fabricated stats are funny, and relatable, we still think there’s validity to using social media as a reliable source or reference. You just have to know how to use it properly and effectively to weed out the bad information and get to the good.

What’s your opinion?
