What do you want? What do you really want?
Well, chances are that if you’re a man, what you really want is a new car. Yep, according to the results from a new social media study, men desire a new car – a Ford, if we’re being specific – more than anything. Even, in some cases, women.
And as for women themselves? Forget shoes and diamonds. It seems what women really want is ice cream. And lots of it.
Netbase analysed an incredible 27 billion conversations over a full year of social interactivity on Twitter and Facebook, looking at the desires that men and women express about the things they want and the brands to which they aspire, and overwhelming it seems that, cars aside, both sexes are mostly concerned about food.
Interestingly, the top three biggest wants for both men and women were identical, just in different orders. Women rated ice cream first ahead of cars and pizza, and men rated cars first ahead of pizza and ice cream.
Both had eight food items in their top ten most wanted list.
As for brands, Starbucks, Corona, KFC, Nutella and Walmart bacon (!) all rated highly amongst participants.
