In June Pew Research undertook a survey of 2,277 Twitter profiles and determined that Twitter adoption among internet users in the United States had increased significantly.

As we documented in our analysis, Twitter usage amongst all online adults had leapt to 13% (from 8%), and the male demographic had doubled in size to 14% (from 7%). Most interestingly, 25% of online African Americans use Twitter (11% on a daily basis) as well as 19% of Hispanics.
