Earlier today we told you that Twitter planned to roll out photo filtering capabilities by the end of the year.
Well, guess what? Those over-achievers got them out the door today!
So there’s no need to wonder any more about what Twitter’s new photo capabilities might look like, because you can check them out for yourself!
Twitter announced today that it released an update to Twitter for iPhone and Twitter for Android and that “this update introduces filters and other ways to edit your photos right from Twitter.”
There are 8 filters total. See your photo with each filter in a grid view on your mobile screen or swipe through the filter options. You can also crop and pinch to zoom, and use auto-enhance to balance the light in your photos.
They’ve partnered with photo-editing fantastico, Aviary, for powering Twitter’s filters and effects. And the birdie named photo company seems pretty pleased with its handiwork – as well it should be:
Together we’ve created a unique experience that makes it easier than ever for people to create and share photos on Twitter, in real time. Each filter was designed from the ground up exclusively for Twitter, and we couldn’t be more excited about how they turned out. We designed these features so that it is very easy to add new and elegant filters to the photos that people share using Twitter’s mobile apps for iPhone and Android.
And here’s what you’ll find when you test it out:
Filters. Apply one of eight filters, ranging from black & white to vintage, to add a new look and feel to your photos.
Take a bird’s-eye view. See how each filter would affect your photo in a single grid view, or swipe through looks to compare your options.
Frame the action. Crop and pinch to zoom in order to focus attention.
Auto-enhance. Make your photos pop with balanced light and colors by tapping the wand.
