Twitter will now have an official New York presence. The company has just opened #TwitterNYC, confirmed by the Twitter Global PR account.

All day, Twitter Culture head Elizabeth Weil (@Elizabeth) has been posting suggestive photos of a new office in NYC. AllThingsD first noticed that she tweeted about going to Home Depot, snapped a pic of a “Welcome to #TwitterNYC” chalkboard, showed the world #TwitterNYC’s security system, and some cute Twitter coffee mugs.

Later in the day, @TwitterGlobalPR tweeted a confirmation of the new office:

“#TwitterNYC is now open. [Insert NYC cliche / bird pun here. We'll retweet the best one.]“

As AllThingsD indicated, Twitter will join Facebook, Google, Spotify, Apple and others in the tech realm in the Big Apple.
