Old media hates new media.
Theatre, for example, hated radio. After all, radio was going to be the death of theatre. Never happened. Radio hated cinema, and both hated TV and video. All of them hate the internet. Especially social media.
Curiously, they’re all still with us, peaking and flowing as trends and tastes change. Amazingly, broadcast radio, despite having its beginnings decades ago, continues to thrive, perhaps because it wisely embraced channels such as Twitter to support its messaging, rather than let itself be undermined by it.
