Here’s How Much Your Twitter Is Worth And Info On Selling It

So, you have ‘a very impressive Twitter’ (like Donald Trump) and want to cash in, hmm?

Well, we’ve found a site showing you what your Twitter is worth and how to sell it. And we promise you’ll be disappointed if you read this.

On this aptly-named site,, one can enter a Twitter handle and determine its relative worth (its high, low and average appraisal) on the open market.

Which open market? We have no idea. Purchasing someone else’s Twitter is pretty ridiculous. What would one do? Change the name and start tweeting different stuff and expect the followers would continue following or not notice?

But let’s ignore that for now.

So you’ve entered your handle by now and realize your Twitter worth a lot and you’re considering selling your account – what’s next? You click the handy “sell account” (just for kicks) and see this:

Please note, however that (according to’s Twitter Rules and Terms of Service), nobody is permitted to sell their account or username without prior written permission from Twitter, Inc. This appraisal report is, therefore, generated under the assumption that such permission is granted by Twitter. If such permission is not granted, there is no (zero) market value or worth to this account.

Doh. Well, how hard is it to get permission? Mission impossible.

We’re pretty sure Twitter isn’t granting anyone permission to sell, according to this little tidbit found in Twitter’s Name Squatting Policy:

Attempts to sell, buy, or solicit other forms of payment in exchange for usernames are also violations and may result in permanent account suspension.

We told you you’d be disappointed. You get nothing. Good day, sir.

But this whole thing doesn’t have to be a waste. You should still get out there and flaunt your Twitter value online like you did with pics of all those Christmas presents under your tree. And then list it on your blog next to your Klout score. Perfection.
