Where do you think Twitter is most prevalent?
The answer will probably surprise you: it’s Saudi Arabia, as we reported on recently.
So where does that leave the U.S. in the hierarchy of tweeting countries? What about the U.K.?
According to a recent study by PeerReach, a full third of Saudi Arabia’s online population are active monthly Twitter users.
That said, it’s important to note that only about half of the people who log in to Twitter once a month are actually taking the time to tweet. The others, presumably, are either simply reading tweets, or logging out without doing anything at all.
PeerReach’s study found that only 11% of U.S. Internet users actually tweet. Way to represent your home country’s social network, guys.
