The rumor mill is churning today over Twitter’s vacant VP Corporate Communications spot, left open when the former VP jumped ship in November.
Pando Daily has the scoop on Twitter’s hunt for a new VP. They’ve apparently hired Russell Reynolds an executive search and assessment firm, to go headhunting for the best in communications talent.
Whoever fills the position will report to CEO Dick Costolo, who has a very strict no-leak policy.
The former VP Communications, Sean Garrett, held his position for two years before leaving the company. He announced his departure on November 8, in a series of tweets which indicated that he wasn’t leaving for another job, but would be taking a sabbatical before getting back in the saddle.
Twitter had some problems with a revolving door of sorts at its CEO level in years past, and now it looks like those problems might be trickling down to its VP level. Co-founder and the first Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey ran things from its founding in 2006 until 2008, when fellow co-founder Evan Williams took over as CEO. Williams handed the title to Dick Costolo in 2010, who has been CEO since.
