Barnes & Noble Introduces Nook for Web

Bookseller Barnes & Noble is bringing its digital eReading platform Nook to the web, making eBooks available to read online. The platform lets Barnes & Noble customers access their Nook library from their browser. It works on Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer.

To get people to try out the platform, the book retailer is making it really easy to access. The service doesn’t require any kind of account, software download or login. Readers can simply go online to the Nook for web page and start browsing eBooks. To promote the service, Barnes & Noble is giving away six free eBooks throughout July 26th, including: Map of Bones by James Rollins, Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell, The Vow by Kim Carpenter, The Boxcar Children Summer Special by Gertrude Chandler Warner, Brave by Tennant Redbank and Perfect Island Getaways by Patricia Schultz.

Amazon’s Kindle platform has been available for reading online since September 2010.
